His Early Life
Bhai Manvir Singh was born in the village at Chaheru of Kapurthala district of the state Punjab in 1959. He was a very intelligent and hardworking boy who helps his father, who was a farmer, by helping him in the fields. The family lived in that village for so many generations and was nearly an ancestor place for him. In the village, Bhai Manvir Singh Chaheru was very well known for his mind that works sharply and his tricking, tactful fighting skills. He studied till 10th grade, after which he started helping his father with farming in their fields. During his childhood, he had the habit of visiting his aunt. At this time, he came into contact with Army general Giani Joginder Singh. Bhai Manvir Singh was motivated to learn more about Amrit and the code of conduct of Sikhs by Giani Joginder Singh.
The turning point of his life
When life was normally going, he gained more interest in the codes of conduct of the Sikhs. At the age of 19, a tragic incident happened that left a deep scar in Bhai Manvir Singh Ji’s mind. Around 13 Sikhs were shot dead, killing them brutally. This left a deep scar and serious pain in his heart, and he could not bear the cruelty against Sikhs.
The rise of thirst for knowledge
He was married to Bibi Ranjith Kaur Ji, and along with his wife and father’s younger brother, he took the Amrit from the Jatha group of Baba Nihal Singh. After he has received the Amrit, Bhai Manvir Singh Chaheru had shown keen interest in attending many spiritual classes. In a spiritual class, the students are taught about Sikh scriptures and are provided with education about the history of Sikhs, the values and the code of conduct. These values and codes of conduct were very helpful for Bhai Manvir Singh Chaheru Ji perfectly shape his life. He always believed that people are equal and have to be treated equally. All these values and education were shaping him into a better man.
